The Building Process
Building a new home is exciting but it can be a little daunting if it’s your first build. That’s why our team will guide you through the building process step-by step so that your new home journey is as easy and as smooth as possible.
STEP ONE - TALK TO YOUR BROKER OR BANK
We suggest contacting your preferred broker or financial institution and, if required, source pre-approval, so you can set a budget for your new home.
STEP TWO - EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS
By visiting our displays at Yarrabilba and Carver's Reach, Park Ridge or explore the many design options on our website.
Your Home Coach will take the time to understand your needs and guide you through the selection process.
STEP THREE - CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE DESIGN or HOME & LAND PACKAGE
We'll provide you with your personalised New Home Estimate (NHE). Secure your new home build by paying an initial deposit of $3000. This deposit is the first payment toward the overall cost of your home and is non-refundable.
STEP FOUR - SITEWORKS AND REPORTS
The siteworks and reporting are now ordered on your land, if your block is registered and accessible. If not, tests are performed as soon as it becomes available.
Your contract plans are then drafted.
STEP FIVE - PRELIMINARY PLANS
Preliminary plans and your New Home Proposal (NHP) are presented to you for your approval*.
We then order your HIA Construction Contract. A contract signing appointment will be scheduled with you Home Coach
STEP SIX - COLOUR SELECTIONS
Your colour selection appointment is booked with a qualified style consultant at Beaumont Tiles, Rochedale
STEP SEVEN - PROVIDE YOUR FINANCIAL APPROVAL
Now is the time to provide your financial approval to your Home Coach. The remainder of your 5% deposit is requested (minus initial deposit)
STEP EIGHT - BUILDING APPROVAL
Your construction plans are now complete, and lodged to gain your covenant and building approvals
STEP NINE - AUTHORITY TO COMMENCE
Congratulations! Your building approval has arrived!
Send your building approval to your lender, who will in turn provided you with an 'Authority to Commence Construction' letter.
Please forward this to DRHomes. Once we've received, your job will be transferred to construction and schedule for commencement, then your new home journey begins!
